An email from the very generous Lee Family, who also made a big fruit donation last year. Thank you so much for your super generous fruit pledge in support of the project! :) I also love the part about certain fruit having personal meaning to this family. The nice thing about Fruit in Kind being interactive is that the viewer injects a part of him/herself through his/her fruit, and the installation and what it 'means' can keep changing over time and with each participation. I love running this project. :) Dear Shu Ruei, Thank you for sharing 2015's Fruit In Kind with me. I've discussed with my family and if possible, we would like to trouble you to help us purchase the following fruits: 1. Strawberries 2. Cherries 3. Blackberries 4. Grapes 5. Gooseberries 6. Avocado* 7. Passionfruit 8. Currant 9. Cherimoya* 10. Blueberries* 11. Lemon* 12. Pomegranate 13. Mango* 14. Papaya* 15. Coconut* 16. Pumpkin I'm really sorry for the long list! I've shown my family pictures of your work and we are all very amazed by how beautiful the art is, and all of us want to see more of our favourite fruits turned into beautiful creation again. (Is it possible to give priority to getting fruits with asterisks? Those are the ones with most family jokes and memories and they mean so much to us) I have transferred money to your account and I can't wait to see this year's art again! Warm Regards, Ms. Lee |
